The LEAD- company PledPharma has started a clinical phase II study. The first patient included in a clinical study in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
Earlier this autumn, PledPharma AB received approval from the Swedish Medical Products Agency (MPA; Läkemedelsverket) and the local Ethical Committee to start a clinical phase II trial in patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI). The first patient has now been included in the trial.

The LEAD company Neo Technology,developer of Neo4j, the world’s leading open source graph database, today announced that it has secured $2.5 million in seed funding to boost Neo4j’s presence in the emerging graph database market.
The funds will be used to accelerate product development and expand sales and marketing efforts. The investment round was co-led by Sunstone Capital and Conor Venture Partners.

The LEAD company VISIARC is the only Nordic company who won a spot in the European final of Qualcomm Ventures prize in London on September 10.
Qualcomm Ventures' QPrize ™ is a series of international competitions, designed to provide over $500,000 in early stage capital for enterprising technology companies. We are happy to announce that the LEAD companies had over 120M SEK in revenue for 2008. This is an increase of over 40% compared to the previous year.
During the summer, we have followed up and compiled public information and found that our current LEAD companies as well as our alumni have had a fantastic year. The 2008 companies had a record 50M SEK in combined revenue and the alumni had just over 70M SEK. Together the companies have over 200 employees.

The Swedish armed forces purchase Cinside´s handheld wall radar unit CPR3. The Armed Forces have previously tested a prototype and the finished radar unit could become part of the defense standard equipment. The LEAD company, Cinside, is the first to commercially offer a wall radar unit in a handheld size.

The Swedish high-tech start-up SP Devices will be the first company to join Accelerat.us.
SP Devices, a LEAD alumni, develops and markets technology for higher quality A/D conversion. Their technology is capable of improving the performance of A/D converters up to four times and is applicable in areas like radio base stations, radar, med tech, testing and evaluation, and military applications. On Thursday April 23rd the Swedish soft landing Accelerat.us was opened in San Diego, USA. Swedish Consul Erik Nowacki and Mikael Hult, incubator manager at Innovationsbron Sweden, attended the event in order to link the Swedish-American ties.
